Politically Correct Oprah has ‘Bias’ Towards Gay Marriage – Source Opposing Views
The article starts out talking about how Oprah has Ellen Degeneras and Portia Derossi on her show as newly wife and wife. Then it goes downhill from there.
“The media force gay marriage down Americans’ throats as if there’s some huge conspiracy against gay people in this country.”
There IS a huge conspiracy against gay people HELLO!
“Personally, gay marriage is like the issue of abortion. I have feelings about it, but it’s not something that gets me all riled up.”
WHAT!!!! She is comparing gay marriage to ABORTION! Are you kidding me?!?! She makes it sound so trivial.
“I tried really hard to be non-judgmental. I tried really hard to look at these two women — one of whom is clearly a lesbian and one of whom is clearly not (just as I predicted Ellen’s former love, Anne Heche, wasn’t) — like they were just another happily married couple. After all, that’s what the media tells Americans homosexuals are: just like the rest of us.”
Wow. If that isn’t judgmental I don’t know what else is. You don’t have to “clearly” look homosexual to “be” homosexual. People are constantly assuming that I’m straight because I clearly don’t look like a typical gay person because I’m bald on the top, I am chunky in the middle and I clearly don’t care about what I wear. So if I don’t act like a typical gay person by not being in shape and not wearing nice clothes then clearly I’m a straight person.
“They are not just like the rest of us.”
Oh I forgot about that statement saying “just like the rest of us”. That sure doesn’t sound very good. I mean we are. Gay people are the same as straight people in the sense that all we’re trying to do is live our lives. We work, sleep, eat, poop, bleed, put our pants on one leg at a time just like you. What makes you think we are not just like you?
“It makes sense that there will always be people who get too much testosterone or too much estrogen. But there’s very little concrete proof (that I’m aware of) about the whole nature/nurture issue re homosexuality. I just happen to believe some people are born gay.”
You know, that’s the first thing you said in that entire article that didn’t piss me off. I happen agree with you on that last sentence and thank you for saying that.
Then she drones on about how she doesn’t feel that emotion of crying when she sees 2 women walk down the aisle as she would seeing a man and a woman walk down the aisle but Oprah shed a tear and showed some emotion which clearly this woman who wrote the article doesn’t understand because apparently 2 gay people getting married to her is like getting an abortion.
You know, I am getting to the point where every article just pisses me off more and more and this just adds to how angry of a blogger I am becoming. I don’t want to be an angry blogger, this is my own personal “diary” blog. I never meant it to be this way but when I see articles like this going around the internet it just riles me up. But at the same time, I feel it my duty to bring these articles out in the open and point out how nasty they are to us as gay people.
