Dark Ages

Every day over the past couple or few weeks, I’ve got these emails from Google, more specifically “Google Alerts.”  So when the word “gay” is blogged or put in a news story online I get an email which I sift through for news I haven’t read yet.  Some I have ignored because it was a repeat of the same story I’ve already read but on a different site.  Yes it’s good to get all the perspectives but I had already blogged about it and I don’t particularly like reading horrible news over and over.

This has given me a LOT to blog about.  My blog has basically turned into a bitch fest on all the born again Christians who are against homosexuality.

I’m getting to the point where I’m just really sick of reading all these horrible stories.  I’m physically sick to my stomach and it emotionally drains me.

For example, there are these news articles about how the Catholics are going to stop helping people in need until all this talk of gay marriage ends.  They are basically blackmailing people into becoming homophobic.

Then there is the story of how Uganda wants to put any and all gay people to death merely for being gay.  AND they want to put all people who don’t report gay people to death as well.

And then we have Jamaica who are running all gays out of town or they be put to death.

These are certainly dark times we are in where a gay person has to start hiding in the closet again or be killed by the government.  It’s basically the holocaust all over again but this time for gays.  Well, Hitler was not opposed to adding gays to the list of who they tortured and killed which is where the pink triangle comes from.

So I’m removing the word “gay” from my Google Alerts because it’s too upsetting to me.

I’ve gone from feeling like we are living in wonderful times where all the gay people can finally come out of the closet to feeling like our freedom has come to a screeching halt and we need to go back in and let the dust settle for 20 years or so then try again.

So although I might not have as many posts per day, maybe, my blog will hopefully be a bit more cheerful again (if it ever was lol).
