Michael McGlone — Geico Commercials

I’ve been seeing this guy on the Geico commercials and I wasn’t sure who he was.  I’ve always thought that he was just a random impersonator of like Robert Stack or someone like that.  I wasn’t sure that that was his real voice but I find out that it is his real voice.  I thought that he was impersonating the guy who does the announcements which is in fact him LOL.

So I did a search and find out that his name is Michael McGlone.  He’s not just an actor in the Geico commercials, he has a long list of movies and TV shows (stage and screen) that he’s been doing since 1989.  He does lots of voice-overs for commercials TV shows.  Although there’s nothing in the list that I’ve actually seen myself, which is why I’ve never heard of him before but I’m sure he’s a very good actor.

He doesn’t just act, he’s also a writer, singer and standup comedian.  So I was looking at his website and I listened to a song and he is very good.  This guy is multi-talented, there’s nothing he can not do in the entertainment industry.

The commercials I’ve seen him in, the Geico commercials, it just seems like a joke.  I mean he talks about Elmer Fudd and the Waltons saying goodnight LOL.  The commercial at the very top of this post is of him asking “does a 10 pound bag of flour make a really big biscuit?”  He just seemed to me like he was making fun of how an announcer would sound like talking about funny things like Elmer Fudd.  Maybe he is making fun of himself and if that’s the case then it’s even funnier than I thought before.  You never really appreciate something until you find out the whole story.
