Crafts

I’ve been doing crafts ever since I was in elementary school.  My mother thought it was good to keep us busy with things that would not only keeps us busy but also teach us real world talents that would help us later in life.  I have to agree because if it weren’t for crafts as a child, I wouldn’t have been as creative as I am today.

Crafting can be an inexpensive way to be able to give gifts to all your friends and family during birthdays and holidays.  Sure someone would be appreciative if you bought them a music cd or a book but they appreciate crafted blankets, clothing and jewelry more.

When I was 9 and in the Cub Scouts I learned how to make lanyard key chains, God’s Eyes, a butterfly house, and plastic canvas crafts.  I also learned at home how to do latch hooking, my parents were always having us kids make rugs, it really kept us busy.

When I was 18 years old I decided I wanted to learn to knit and crochet so we went to Kmart and I bought a whole bunch of supplies.  Books to learn from, knitting and crocheting needles and plenty of yarn to keep me going for a while.

The projects you are about to see are all many different crafts.  There is crocheting, knitting, embroidery, latch hook, wood burning, beading, sewing, plastic canvas, macramé jewelry and homemade polymer clay beads.

I love doing crafts, unfortunately I now have carpal tunnel syndrome which means I can’t do it as often anymore.  But I do still do it when my hands don’t hurt but at a slower pace.

Hope you enjoy the images.
