When I was growing up I was never allowed to carve a pumpkin. I wasn’t even allowed to scoop it out. I resented that so when I grew up I refused to have anything to do with it.
That is until I saw the pumpkin carving kits at a Rite Aid one day in 1998. I bought one because our friend was obsessed with Bats and this book had a really cool bat pattern. I made him the pumpkin and it was so fun that I decided that I would continue making these pumpkins every year.
